Twitter Blast: Sure Fire Twitter Marketing

This is extremely easy and effective way to spread your message if you can do it properly. Ryan Hoover used the power of twitter marketing to build and grow ProductHunt, one of the hottest startup you probably know. First of all, you don’t need to know ABC of marketing to do this, just go and start doing it from today. Shall we start? Here we go:

Step #1 List The Keywords Code

List down top 10 keywords that belong to your product. No need to become keyword strategist, just grab a pen and paper and note down top 10 words closely related to your product quickly in next 10-15 minutes.

e.g if I were doing it for Buffer, it would be

  • Social media scheduling tools
  • Social media tool
  • Social media marketing tool
  • Social media marketing
  • Tweet scheduling tool
  • Facebook post scheduling tool
  • Social media analytics
  • Twitter marketing
  • Facebook marketing
  • & So on…

Done? Let’s move to the next step fast.

Step #2 Find Early Adopter

Now it’s time to find people who can be either your customers or can bring many customers. The logic behind this is, some smart people are always ready to help great founders like you and many of them will do this. The only hack behind this is to find such great persons.

Open a new google sheet and list down all twitter followers who are either tweeting with these keywords or have these words in their bio or both. This step will take maybe few hours so take your time and make a list of at least 500+ people. A longer list is going to give a better result remember this.

Done again? Move on, pal!

Step #3 Invite Them On A Landing Page

Use a landing page where these people will come to learn more, please don’t send them on your homepage. You can build a simple and short landing page with clear and bold short pitch about your product. It would be great if you would embed a 30 to 60s self-explainer video in which you talk about your product in short. It would be nicer if you offer them something for free, maybe highest plan free for one year.

I love Unbounce and using it for all my projects, you can try it for this project.

Don’t forget to add feedback form or button anywhere on this landing page as a call to action.

Step #4 Write Personalised Tweets

Create unique and personalised tweets for everyone on your list with their website’s or blog’s handles. If your list is longer it will again take a few hours, but here is a hack to do this in minutes.

Write All Tweets in Minutes

Go to first raw and write a template using an amazing feature of Google Sheet, like this:

=“Hi “ & B2 & ” I m “ & C2 & ” fan n loving it. Doing a project @openthrive like u. How About if you just tweet this plz http://bit.ly/optrv”

Use bitly to make short URL of the link. For the number of character in #Count Column add a formula =LEN(D2), LEN(D3)….

Step #5 Post All Tweets One By One

Now your time begins, post all tweets one by one in a certain interval. I would recommend using any smart social media tool can save your time. So, for this:

Signup For Buffer Business Plan

Here magic will start now, go to buffer.com, create an account and upgrade to the business plan, it’s going to cost you $99, although they offer free trial too. Now connect your personal twitter account and schedule all tweets in a gap of at least 15 minutes.

Step #6 Interact With Them & Count The Results

Now wait for few hours or maybe one day, some loyal people will start taking action on your tweets. Keep replying on every tweet and retweet with thank you notes. Don’t worry if you are not getting a quick result, it will take one or two weeks to roll out all your tweets. It will give you some great result at the end of the experiment.

I have done this for sure, we got 27% CTR and 9% conversion. Some of them were influencers, so they also brought some extra conversions too. Please let me know how it works for you?

Bonus Tip:

After a few months when your product will be ready for launch, you can repeat this with product launching tweets. This time many of them know you, they will help in to bring some social traction on your product.

The conclusion of the day:
